Crowns & bridges

Injury, decay, or gum disease can cause tooth loss allowing for teeth to shift, move, or flare out.  This can create unwanted spaces which can alter the look of your smile, jawline, and face. Crowns and bridges can be used to fill the space helping to prevent the loss of bone structure in your jaw while also restoring your healthy smile.

What are crowns?

Crowns, also known as caps, are specifically designed to fit over top of a damaged tooth. Crowns can be made from porcelain, stainless steel, zirconia, titanium, or gold and are custom-fitted to your tooth, so that it will look beautiful and function properly.

What are bridges?

Bridges can help close the gap left by one to three missing teeth by using a combination of artificial teeth and crowns placed over existing teeth. Using a bridge to fill gaps left by missing teeth can help restore your smile, as well as redistribute the workload amongst your teeth more evenly. Since there are several different kinds of bridges, we will help you select the best option for your unique situation.

Dental veneers

Over time, your teeth can acquire stains, chips, breaks, or cracks that can cause you to lose confidence in your smile. Dental veneers are thin pieces of durable porcelain that are permanently bonded to the front of your teeth to cover up unwanted flaws, giving you a natural-looking, beautiful smile. Most veneers are highly resistant to permanent discolouration from coffee, tea, red wine, and tobacco and can be adjusted to exactly match the colour of your natural teeth. Dental veneers can help improve the overall look of your teeth’s colour, size, shape, alignment, and spacing.

Invisalign® aligners or “clear braces” are customized removable trays that help to treat gaps, underbites, overbites, crowding, and other issues. All Invisalign® aligners are made from BPA-free clear plastic and are designed using a series of x-rays, pictures, and impressions to create a precise image of your teeth, ensuring that each of your aligner trays are properly configured. Every two weeks, you will be given a new set of aligners that will help slowly move your teeth into the ideal positions. Unlike metal braces that are attached to your teeth, Invisalign® trays can be removed at any time; however, for optimal results, it is best to wear the aligners for at least 20-22 hours a day.

Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening works to remove stains and discolouration and to help lighten teeth pigmentation by applying carbamide peroxide to each tooth’s surface. While you can choose between professional teeth whitening and buying an over-the-counter teeth whitening kit, it is important to keep in mind that store bought kits will have significantly less active ingredients (carbamide peroxide) and will likely take longer to get the desired results. In most cases, your teeth can be whitened up to eight shades; however, the overall results will also depend on the degree of teeth discolouration and how well your teeth respond to the treatment. Long-term results will be influenced by your eating and drinking habits. Touch ups may be required.
