Diagnostic Equipment and Procedures

Dentists may use other diagnostic equipment beyond a standard x-ray to ensure a patient's health and/or for treatment planning, such as CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography) or CAT scan. These 3D images enable faster and more accurate fitting of dental implants; however, they can also be used to identify risks associated with dental surgeries, such as the location of vital nerves.

Sedation Dentistry

Visiting the Dentist can bring a variety of emotions such as fear and for some, it can create anxiety. This is a common concern for many patients; however, there are solutions available for patients including children, to relieve dental fears and anxiety. To alleviate these concerns and to assist patients in feeling more relaxed during their next dental appointment, qualified Dentists can offer patients sedation dentistry. Sedation options include oral sedation, nitrous oxide (laughing gas), and IV sedation.

Wisdom Teeth Extraction/Removal

Another common surgery for many patients is the removal of their wisdom teeth, which typically begin breaking through the gums around age 17-25. Most individual’s anatomy of their mouth and jaw do not allow for the wisdom teeth to properly integrate into the mouth due to a lack of space. Therefore, it is recommended that most patients have them removed as early as 15-16 years of age. Leaving them in the mouth or untreated can cause infection, damage to adjacent teeth and other problems.

Cosmetic and Therapeutic Botox ®

There are several factors that can affect the health of a patient’s skin including, cellular changes, age, sun damage, and surrounding environment. Along with health factors, the appearance of an individual's skin is also affected by repeated muscle contractions that we do each day such as frowning, smiling, squinting, and raising eyebrows. Therapeutic Botox ® is used to relax the facial muscles that cause tension in the head, neck and jaw joints.
